About Us

Deanie's Doll Haven Ministry was born out of a deeply personal experience when Hayley's mother-in-law, Lounette, was diagnosed with dementia, leading the family to make the difficult decision of transitioning her into a care facility. Witnessing the profound comfort a simple doll brought to Lounette, gifted by her daughter, Jennifer, Hayley recognized the universal need among other residents for similar companionship. Through the grace of God and the support of her friends and family, Hayley embarked on a mission to provide baby dolls to as many individuals as possible within care facilities. Over time, this ministry expanded to include stuffed cats and dogs, offering solace and companionship during a period in life where it's needed most. Each gift is accompanied by a Bible verse card, featuring Isaiah 41:10, symbolizing hope and strength in times of adversity.

In Memory Of Dean Carter
Deanie's Doll Haven Ministry is a heartfelt tribute to Hayley's beloved mother, Dean, whose compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication to helping others have long served as an inspiration.

The Purpose of Deanie's Doll Haven Ministry

Hayley is passionate about bringing laughter and joy to the residents through the compassionate use of dolls. These precious companions not only lift spirits but also contribute to overall health and well-being. They have been shown to enhance mood, soothe agitation, and provide a sense of companionship to patients. For individuals with dementia, caring for a doll or soft toy can reignite a sense of purpose and connection with the world around them.

Scientific research supports the benefits of doll therapy, showing improvements in emotional state, reduced disturbing behaviors, and enhanced communication among dementia patients. Caregivers often find that residents holding a doll are more easily tended to, as the dolls offer comfort and distraction.

This non-drug intervention yields only positive side effects and has been shown to significantly reduce behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, as well as alleviate caregiver distress, according to a study published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry in July 2018

A note from Hayley

Following the loss of my mother, this ministry has been instrumental in healing my heart. Through the act of giving, we find solace and strength, and it's a privilege to extend that healing to others. Many have found comfort in honoring their loved ones by donating these dolls, whether in memory of mothers, grandmothers, or children.

I firmly believe that this team was brought together by the Lord. Each of us has experienced loss and faced our own challenges, and yet, through serving others, we find healing and purpose. It's a profound experience to witness the joy and gratitude on the faces of those we serve. Together, we share tears, laughter, and most importantly, we share God's love through prayer and the reading of His Word.

Our mission is rooted in spreading God's love to the forgotten generation, demonstrating compassion and kindness in Jesus' name
